Construction News

on 26 August it was announced that the Kier Group had been appointed by the Department for Education (DfE) to deliver the £24.7m project at Dover Grammar School for Boys, procured through the DfE Construction Framework with the project being selected as part of the DfE’s Priority School Building Programme (PSBP).

The project includes the design and construction of a new four-storey teaching block and attached four-court sports hall, with a two-court multi-use games area and grass football pitch.

The aim of the project is to provide modern facilities for the schools 860 11-18-year-old pupils and the new building will replace the current building which was constructed in the 1930s. To keep some of the history of the old school, Kier is relocating the existing pipe organ, a stained glass window and some historical plaques.
