1982 Choir Record

“Believe it or not I have just been passed a record album titled “The Music of DOVER GRAMMAR SCHOOL FOR BOYS” and this photograph was on the back of it. The record was produced in 1982. (Limited edition I assume). I haven’t played it yet and actually it looks like it hasn’t been played. Any comments? Anyone recognise anyone? And before anyone asks, NO! I didn’t take part.”  (Paul Skelton)

1982 Folkestone Warren

Richard ‘Jack’ Hanson (left) watching Phil ‘Gronchby’ Cross, Tom Hunnisett and Keith Parks enjoying a fag at Folkestone Warren during an E.S. trip, circa 1982.

Looks like an NME shoot for some debutant New Wave band.

Kindly sent by Lee Wakefield (28 Sept 2007) who goes on to say:-

“I don’t remember loads about the trip but I remember Dave Murray and Coulthard (I think) were the teachers who came with us. I started the trip as school team captain but after a disagreement and a bundle with roommate and best mate ‘Dieter’ Hoeness over dinner I was stripped of the captaincy. I do remember being able to buy fags for 10 pence as an English 5p was the same size as a German Mark and you could use them in the vending machines!”
